We are pleased to be holding a costume contest at the convention this year with awesome prizes!
General Rules
How to Register for the Cosplay Contest
Contests must register for the contest by selecting a category below and registering or at Con HQ located inside the Exhibit Hall during the convention day before 3pm.
General Rules
- All props and cosplays must conform to Concinnity/Kappa Kon’s Weapons Policy and Rules.
- If your cosplay or your props are fairly large, be warned – the stairs for the stage are not that wide, nor is there a lot of clearance over the head. If you can’t get onstage to be judged, you will need in inform a masquerade staff member in the application or via email before the convention.
- Cosplays should not be constructed out of messy substances or materials. Paint, body paint, and makeup should not be coming off during casual contact with other attendees or staff.
- Cosplays must be self-contained. Connections to electrical sockets or extension cords will not be available.
- Contestant(s) must be registered for the convention.
- Advanced
The advanced category is for single and group walk-ons who have previously competed in a Cosplay or Costume contest and have received a prize or an award. Any costumes in this category must be 80% handmade or more by the person or group competing. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes and awards for this category. - Beginner
The beginner category is for single and group walk-ons who have never competed in a Cosplay or Costume contest before or have never won an award prize from competing. Any costumes in this category must be 60% handmade or more by the person or group competing. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes and awards for this category. - Exhibit
The exhibit category is for single and group walk-ons who want to show off their bought or commissioned cosplays and costumes. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner receiving a small prize and award given to this category.
